Oct 19 | 8:30 AM-12 PM | UNM Fall Preview Day | Main Campus, Albuquerque: An open house for high school students to explore academic programs, tour campus and residence halls, and learn about student life at The University of New Mexico. Program also available November 9.
Oct 19 | 11 AM-2:30 PM | UNM School of Engineering Open House | Centennial Engineering Center, UNM Main Campus: An opportunity to learn more about degree programs, student organizations, and financial aid, as well as to tour research labs.
Oct 22 | 7:30 AM-3:15 PM | Realizing the College Dream Workshop for Educators | New Mexico State University, Corbett Center Student Union, Third Floor-Ballrooms: This hands-on college readiness workshop hosted by NMSU in partnership with ECMC is for professionals who work with high school students. Topics will include: planning and paying for college, exploring programs and careers, succeeding as a first-generation college student, and managing money. There is no registration fee and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Oct 26 | 9 AM-3:15 PM | Eastern New Mexico University Open House | ENMU, Portales: Learn about admission and scholarships, meet with faculty, and gain an insider's perspective with a specialized campus tour by the President's Ambassadors.
Oct 29 | 5:30-6:30 PM | Financial Aid Night | Santa Fe Prep Auditorium, 1101 Camino de la Cruz Blanca: Chris George, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at St. Olaf College (MN), will break down the differences between need-based aid and merit scholarships, discuss the FAFSA and CSS Profile, and address the rising costs of college. Nov 2 | 9 AM-3 PM | NM Tech Expo Day | NM Tech, Socorro: Visit campus, hear more about financial aid and scholarships, take a tour of the residence halls, dine in the cafeteria, meet some “Techies”, faculty, and find out more about the unique opportunities for undergraduates at NM Tech.

Oct 16, Nov 6, Nov 20, Dec 4, Dec 18 | 4-5PM | Fidelity Scholarship Info Session: The Fidelity Scholars Program wants to help underrepresented students graduate debt-free. Scholars have to attend an in-state college or university and currently have a 2.5-3.5 GPA. Students, families, and educators are welcome to attend one of the webinars about the program. Oct 24 | 5-6 PM | Applying to College as a Rural/Small-Town Student: Learn about navigating the college admissions process and highlighting your unique strengths as a rural or small-town student on your application.
Oct 27 | 10:30 AM-2 PM | Occidental College: Fall 2024 Virtual Tiger Access Program: High school students can join and meet current Occidental students, faculty, and staff, as they introduce participants to the mission of a liberal arts institution and the value of the liberal arts in Los Angeles. The program is open to all high school seniors; however, the programming will focus on providing support and resources to students who are first generation, low-income, and from other traditionally underrepresented groups.
SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID
The Evans Scholarship is a full tuition scholarship for high-achieving caddies. The application deadline is October 15.
The Daniels Scholarship is for low-income students in New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. The deadline is October 18, giving students just over a month to apply.
The Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards recognize Hispanic/Latinx students who excel both in the classroom and in the community. The minimum GPA requirement is a 3.0. The application deadline is November 3.
The Elks Scholarship ranges from $1,000-$7,500 per year, and is awarded to 500 students nationwide. The application deadline is November 12.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship is a last dollar scholarship that covers the remaining balance after institutional financial aid. Along with the scholarship, recipients receive personalized advising related to college selection, financial aid, the transition to college, and maximizing the student experience. The application deadline is November 14.
The Handler Scholarship at the University of Rochester has a November 30 nomination deadline. The scholarship is intended for highly academically qualified students with significant financial need who have overcome significant hardships during high school. The scholarship covers more than tuition, providing individualized mentoring and an extra $5,000 in funding to pursue academic or professional enrichment.
The Hagan Scholarship supports high-achieving, goal-driven students in their goal to graduate college debt-free. Hagan provides up to $15k per year, plus a $2k starter grant, and also gives students money to invest in the stock market. The application opens September 1, and the deadline is December 1.
December 1 is the priority scholarship deadline for most in-state and WUE schools.
