SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

The Hadden Scholarship awards up to $5,000 a year year to high school seniors with demonstrated financial need, for up to four years of college undergraduate study. Hadden Scholars must be U.S. citizens matriculating at a four-year accredited college or university established in the United States. There is a minimum unweighted grade point average requirement, 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. The deadline to apply has been extended to June 1.

Last month, we spotlighted state-wide scholarships by the Albuquerque Community Foundation and the Santa Fe Community Foundation. Some of those had April application deadlines, but in light of the FAFSA delays and students only recently getting the opportunity to make corrections or add schools, the following have extended their deadlines. The scholarships below try to cover a student’s gap or unmet need as a last-dollar scholarship.

Santa Fe Community Foundation (create an account here)

  • Michael S. Currier Scholarship - new deadline of June 7. Can be used for out-of-state OR in-state colleges and universities.

  • Sussman Miller - in-state school deadline of June 7

Albuquerque Community Foundation (create an account here)

  • Sussman Miller out-of-state deadline of May 9

  • Sussman Miller in-state deadline of June 6
