The Beginning: Breakthrough Santa Fe
The Davis New Mexico Scholarship started as an extension of Breakthrough Santa Fe, a college access program here in northern New Mexico. Founded at Santa Fe Prep in 2004 as part of the national Breakthrough Collaborative, Breakthrough Santa Fe has almost two decades of experience in creating pathways to college for low-income and first-generation college-going students. The Breakthrough Santa Fe program emphasizes long-term relationships with students and families, as well as rigorous academics and high quality college counseling— values we continue to carry with us every day at the Davis New Mexico Scholarship.
